SHKP wins tender for another site in the centre of Qingsheng, Nansha
To be developed into a landmark integrated complex

Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP) announced that it has won the tender for another commercial site in the core area of Qingsheng in Nansha, Guangzhou. The 750,000-square-foot site is adjacent to the one acquired by SHKP in May 2018. Both sites adjoin the Qingsheng Station of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link and that of Line 4 of the Guangzhou Metro. SHKP will develop the two combined sites into an integrated commercial complex based on the transit-oriented development (TOD) model.

The two sites have a combined area of 1.09 million square feet and a gross floor area of over 3.5 million square feet.

Qingsheng is strategically located for development. It is in Nansha which is at the core centre of the Greater Bay Area, is part of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the only city sub-centre of Guangzhou.

The area offers favourable conditions for business and provides a solid foundation for the manufacturing and high-tech industries. It currently houses high-end corporations such as automobile and artificial intelligence companies. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology also recently announced it will have another campus in the high-tech zone of Qingsheng.

The recently published Greater Bay Area Outline Development Plan further reaffirms the strategic position of Guangzhou Nansha. SHKP fully supports developing Guangzhou Nansha into a demonstration zone for comprehensive cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, a technology and innovation base, and to become the top choice for service providers such as banks and insurance companies in Hong Kong and Macau who wish to establish a base in the Greater Bay Area.

The Qingsheng sites sit on an integrated transport hub. It takes only 13 minutes from the Qingsheng Station to Guangzhounan Railway Station on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, half an hour to Shenzhen, and only an hour to the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, atop of which sits the Group’s another landmark development, the International Commerce Centre (ICC).

The two sites are also next to the Qingsheng Station of the Guangzhou Metro. Apart from the existing Guangzhou Metro Line 4, two planned lines (Line 22 and the Zhinan Line) will also have a stop there. Other nearby infrastructure projects include the Second Humen Bridge. Scheduled for opening in mid-2019, the bridge will be an expressway linking the western and eastern sides of the Pearl River.

SHKP is committed to, and has been playing an active role in, developing the Greater Bay Area. The Group will continue to look for prime sites in the area for development into premium quality projects.
